🍫 German Chocolate Cake
German chocolate cake is a rich, sweet layered cake with chocolate sponge layers and a signature coconut–pecan frosting. Despite the name, it originated in the U.S. and uses Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate.

Ingredients
For the Cake

4 oz German’s Sweet Chocolate, chopped
1 cup Boiling water
2½ cups Flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
2 cups Sugar
4 egg yolks
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 cup Buttermilk
For the Frosting

1 cup Evaporated milk
1 cup Sugar
3 egg yolks
½ cup **Butter
